The before/after nobody posts: six months of labs on tirzepatide vs. a photo

I don’t do before/after photos. Not a judgment on anyone who does, just not what I’m tracking. What I have is six months of numbers, which is a weirder kind of before/after. Before tirz: A1c 6.1, fasting glucose hovering 104-108, fasting insulin 14 (doctor said ‘fine’), triglyceride:HDL ratio around 3.2. Six months in, currently at 7.5mg: A1c 5.6, fasting glucose 88-94 on waking, fasting insulin came down to 7, trig:HDL ratio 1.8. Weight’s down 19 lbs. I don’t actually know what that looks like in a photo because I haven’t taken one. The part that interests me is the insulin number. That’s not just appetite suppression doing the work - hepatic insulin sensitivity is the mechanism nobody talks about when they post the scale pic. GLP-1 and GIP receptors in the liver are doing something to glucose output independent of how much I’m eating. The weight drop is downstream of that, not upstream. If your before/after is just the scale or a mirror, you’re reading the output file without checking the logs. Pull your fasting insulin if you haven’t. It tells a different story.
