I’ve been on the same routine, same calories, same activity, same workouts, and I’ve gained 5 pounds in two months. My endocrinologist’s explanation is basically “oh, insulin resistance” and then… nothing happens. At least the androgens are responding. LH and testosterone finally coming down on spironolactone, progesterone’s climbing. But the weight just keeps going and I don’t know if I’m hitting some kind of threshold or if my doc just doesn’t think it’s important. I know PCOS weight doesn’t respond like regular weight loss. fwiw Has anyone had weight gain that clearly doesn’t match what you’re eating? Did it level off or did you have to manage the insulin piece separately?
the “oh, insulin resistance” explanation with zero follow-up is maddeningly familiar. your doc is probably right about the mechanism, but just naming it isn’t a plan.
the spironolactone is a confound here. it’s good that the androgens are responding, but you can’t really isolate the variables.
you’ve got one
