four months on 75mcg levothyroxine now. my TSH came down from 4.2 and has been sitting in range for a bit, and those free T3 dips aren’t going as low as they were early on. biochemically, on paper, things look better than they did in february. but the weight.
man, the weight is just locked. zero movement. i’m eating clean, the same workouts I was doing last year when i was actually losing naturally. A1C is solid.
i just feel like i’m running into a brick wall here. it’s not like i gained a ton of weight when my thyroid went wonky, but the extra 10-15 lbs that showed up then is glued on now. and i’m tired of feeling like i’m doing all the right things and my body just isn’t listening. that’s the symptom that’s bothering me the most, the one that tells me something still isn’t quite right even if the numbers are where they ‘should’ be.
it’s frustrating. you get the levothyroxine, the numbers look better, you expect to feel better. and i do, in some ways. the brain fog isn’t a constant haze anymore, just the waves that follow the cold hands, that 48-hour warning.
but the metabolic piece, the weight and how my body is processing things, feels like it’s still stuck in a different gear. i still get the fatigue that sleep doesn’t touch, not as often, but it hits. and it’s always harder to explain to a doctor when the chart says ‘normal’. anyone else get to this point with thyroid meds where the labs normalize but that one specific symptom just hangs on and doesn’t budge?
especially the weight piece? feels like the goalposts just shifted.
