What actually lowered your baseline before pain clinic

waiting on pain clinic still (two months out). baseline is 5-6, occasionally 7. i’ve been logging flares for five months now and i can see patterns but i can’t actually fix them yet. my GP has suggested:

  • low impact exercise (swimming, walking)
  • pacing
  • magnesium
  • “stress reduction” i’ve been doing most of that.

pacing i actually take seriously now. magnesium hasn’t done much. the exercise thing is complicated bc a moderate walk on a bad week pushes me from 5 to 7, and i’m still figuring out the lag window. what i’m asking is whether anyone had something that genuinely moved their numbers before they got into actual pain management.

not eliminated pain, not “cured” anything. just moved the baseline from a 6 to a 4 consistently. physical therapy? a specific type?

something dietary that wasn’t placebo-level? nerve pain stuff? i’m not looking for a fix, i’ve let go of that. i just want to show up to the pain clinic appointment having actually tried things, not just waited.

what actually did something for you, and roughly how long before you noticed it?
