Weaning and guilt at 12 mos pp

been a minute since i posted. niall is 12 mos now and i’m still trying to wrap my head around weaning. i mean, i know it’s a process, but the guilt is real. i was talking to my doc about it and she said something about hormonal shifts, but i’m not sure that’s the whole story. i’ve been tracking my progress in careclinic and the daily check-in flow has actually been pretty helpful for seeing patterns, but even with that, it’s hard to separate the physical from the emotional.

i’m down 25 lbs from my peak, but the scale doesn’t tell the whole story - my body is still… different. and the weaning process feels like another loss, somehow. fwiw does anyone else feel like they’re grieving the end of breastfeeding, even when it’s time? or is that just me?

hormonal shifts are tricky, and sometimes what feels like emotional guilt is actually a physical response to them, not just the mental side of it.
