I had a Vivity lens implanted in my non-dominant eye three weeks ago. While I have good distance vision and can see well at mid-range (like when typing on my Mac Air), my near vision—like looking at my smartphone or reading a book—remains blurry, which is disappointing. I’ve read that near vision can improve over time, and I’d love to hear if anyone else has experienced this.
Regarding halos at night, I don’t notice any, but my cataract was so severe that any improvement feels significant. I also have a cataract in my dominant eye, so any slight halos I do see might be related to that. Additionally, I’m noticing a bit of waviness in my peripheral vision, which could just be part of the natural healing process. I have a follow-up appointment with dilation at the one-month mark to check my healing, and I hope I haven’t wasted nearly $3k.
I find it puzzling that my brother had multifocal lenses implanted ten years ago and can see well at both near and far distances without glasses, while I’m stuck needing readers with the latest technology.
I would appreciate any feedback on others’ experiences. I also reached out to the FDA for more long-term statistics, but I haven’t received a response yet. Thank you!
