125mg topiramate, month 8, and the tingling in my fingers and toes never fully went away. started around week 3, everyone said it fades by month two. mine didn’t. it’s worse after I’ve had a soda (topiramate + carbonation is its own known thing, tastes flat and metallic too, so that part checked out at least).
what actually helped: nothing dramatic. i stopped drinking anything carbonated, which took the edge off but didn’t kill it. i asked my neuro about potassium and she wasn’t convinced it does much for this specific side effect, more of an internet thing than a real fix. what didn’t help: waiting it out.
eight months is not “it’ll pass.” separate from this, i log everything in careclinic now bc i wanted to know if the tingling tracked with dose timing or something else entirely, and it doesn’t move with anything, it’s just baseline at this point, same as the fog. anyone still getting paresthesia this far in, or does it eventually fade for real and I just got unlucky on timeline?
