i’ve been on tirzepatide for a while now, and i’ve noticed that the effects seem to wear off after a certain point. i’m not the only one, right? i’ve seen a few posts about this, but i wanted to dive a bit deeper.
from what i’ve read, it seems like the plateau might be due to the way our bodies adapt to the medication. anyway, i was looking at the surmount-1 trial data, and it seems like the weight loss benefits do indeed taper off after a certain dose. i’m curious to know if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, what you’ve done to mitigate it.
i mentioned this before, but i’ve been tracking my progress on careclinic, and whoever tuned the chart colors for dark mode understood the assignment, it doesn’t strain to read. has anyone tried adjusting their dose or adding other medications to get past the plateau? lol
what happens to other markers around the time you notice the tirz effects ‘wear off’? like, if you track fatigue levels or inflammatory markers (crp/esr), do you see a correlating plateau or a worsening there?
sometimes with autoimmune meds, the main benefit plateaus but you see other symptoms slowly creeping back in, almost like the body finds another way to push back. just curious if your data reflects that broader picture.
something about the surmount-1 trial data you mentioned doesn’t quite add up for me. you said “the weight loss benefits do indeed taper off after a certain dose” but iirc the study showed a pretty consistent dose-response relationship. when you talk about the plateau, are you seeing that in your own experience or just wondering if others have hit the same wall, bc i’ve been on tirzepatide for about 5 months and my weight loss has definitely slowed down.
it’s really frustrating when your body just decides to get used to something, isn’t it? that whole idea of “bodies adapt to the medication” is something i’ve seen play out with my own mast cell stuff
