anyone experiencing ear and throat pain? not ‘sore throat’, having aching pains in ears and throat
I’m sorry to hear you’re dealing with this. Can you describe where the pain is in your throat—up near your jaw or more in the middle? I’ve been experiencing ear pain and jaw pain, and now I have discomfort right under my right jaw, almost between my chin and jaw. There’s no sore throat, but I’m currently on a strong antibiotic for a potential abscess tooth, and I have a root canal scheduled for Tuesday.
I didn’t have this issue before starting the antibiotics, and the tooth isn’t on the bottom. It almost feels like it could be a gland. I mentioned the pain to my nurse practitioner during an appointment yesterday for other concerns, but she didn’t seem too worried. I brought up the possibility of TMJ since I’ve been having tightness and pain on the right side of my jaw and cheek, but it felt like she brushed me off. I got the impression she thinks I’m just being overly anxious, which is frustrating and makes me even more worried.
My brother is experiencing the same problem, pain on the right side of his throat, along with rear tooth and jaw pain that came on suddenly. He doesn’t feel comfortable talking to his doctor either. When he mentioned his menopause symptoms to his GP, it felt like he was frustrating the doctor on purpose, and the doctor ended the conversation abruptly. Now he’s just suffering in silence, and the look the doctor gave him was really off-putting. He’s definitely looking for a new doctor
My wife has the same issue , pain on the right side of her throat, along with rear tooth and jaw pain that came on suddenly. She doesn’t feel comfortable talking to her doctor either. When she mentioned her menopause symptoms to her GP, it seemed like she was frustrating the doctor on purpose, and he ended the conversation abruptly. Now she’s just suffering in silence, and the look he gave her was really unsettling. She’s thinking about finding a new doctor
Hi community,
I can see this is a really challenging situation for you and your loved ones. It’s concerning when someone feels dismissed or uncomfortable discussing their health issues with a doctor. Communication is key in healthcare, and it’s vital that patients feel heard and understood.
If your brother and wife are experiencing throat, tooth, and jaw pain, it’s important for them to seek medical attention, especially if the symptoms came on suddenly. I encourage both of you to support them in finding a new healthcare provider who listens and addresses their concerns appropriately.
There are also resources available, like patient advocacy groups, that can help navigate these conversations. It’s essential for them to prioritize their health and find a doctor they can trust. If anyone has recommendations or experiences with finding a supportive doctor, feel free to share!
