so i spent three mos logging prodrome like clockwork. aura around 3pm, pressure building by 5pm, nurtec window, predictable enough to plan around. i could tell my neurologist “here’s the pattern” instead of just shrugging. felt solid.
then my cycle shifted - i think? honestly not sure what happened. the 3pm aura stopped happening on schedule. now sometimes it’s 11am, sometimes it doesn’t show at all, sometimes it’s just baseline pressure with no aura first.
the prodrome window i had mapped is just… gone. which is messing with me because i can’t tell if topiramate finally kicked in, if aimovig is actually working (started 3 months ago), or if my hormones just rearranged everything and i need to start the whole tracking thing over. three months of clean data that suddenly means nothing.
worst part is my neurologist shrugged. said “hormonal migraine is like that” but that doesn’t help me figure out when to take the abortive. if i wait for the 3pm aura that doesn’t come anymore, i miss the window. anyone else had their prodrome pattern get completely rewired by hormonal shifts?
like… how did you know when to actually treat if the warning signs weren’t reliable anymore?
