i just read something about how androgen levels actually matter more in PCOS diagnosis than a lot of GPs initially catch. and now it makes sense why my own approach took so long. tbh i spent years with irregular cycles and basically no ovulation, but nobody tested my LH/testosterone until my third endocrinologist. when they finally did, my androgens were genuinely elevated. once i got on spironolactone, the cycle tracking actually started making sense. still not regular, but ovulation windows became predictable instead of a total guessing game. what gets me is how many people are bouncing around the system like i did, getting told “just lose weight” or “ur labs look fine” when their androgen ratio is the actual problem. the medication didn’t fix PCOS, but it made the parts that respond to treatment actually work. has anyone else had the experience where getting the right test finally explained what was going on?
