so like three months ago i started feeling this low-level irritability that i couldn’t shake. blamed it on work, carpenters stress, whatever. but then i started logging it same way i track my tsh and cortisol - time of day, what set it off, severity 1-10. and it was weirdly consistent.
worst around 3pm, peak after missing sleep. went to my endocrinologist and asked if mood stuff was normal when labs looked fine. they kinda shrugged at first, then asked about my cortisol pattern. turns out my am cortisol was climbing and my 8pm cortisol wasn’t dropping like it should.
still technically in range but trending. they called it “subclinical but symptomatic.” nobody warns you that your rage might be hormonal until it’s your baseline. i thought it was just who i was. turns out when i tightened my sleep schedule and got my cortisol rhythm back, the irritability dropped like 60%.
has anyone else had mood stuff that didn’t show up in standard thyroid panels but did in full endocrine workup?
