myth: if screen time is your trigger, just do the eye doctor thing, look away every 20 min, blue light filter on, done. reality: it’s not eye strain in isolation, it’s cumulative load. i work a scope and two monitors most of the day and the 20-20-20 breaks do basically nothing if i slept 5 hrs, i’m on cycle day 3 of my window, or i’ve still got leftover photophobia from a flare two days ago. those variables stack. the screen is just whatever tips it over that day, not the whole cause.
fwiw blue light glasses specifically felt like a scam once i actually tracked it, zero difference in prodrome timing with or without them. what actually helps some days is cutting brightness AND ending meetings early AND not stacking screen time right after a bad sleep night, not any single fix. anyone else get sold on the blue light thing and it just didn’t do anything?
