so i went to pick up my qvar this morning and the pharmacist, who i swear actively hates me, told me it’s off the shelves. no explanation, just ‘it’s unavailable.’ apparently, it’s been like that for a bit and i just… missed the memo. i’ve been on qvar for years.
it’s not a super high dose, but it’s the one thing that feels like it actually works for me without making my throat feel like i swallowed sandpaper. i do have a bit of a lung thing, nothing dramatic, but enough that i don’t want to mess with it. now i’m staring at the generic options and the other brands. my first thought is just to grab whatever, but then i remember how much trouble i had finding the right inhaler combo a few years back.
i tried one before qvar that made me jittery and my heart race, and another that just… did nothing. for anyone who’s had to switch from qvar, or even just uses a different autohaler for similar issues, what are you using? and more importantly, how did you find out it was the right one for you?
i don’t want to go through a whole cycle of trial and error if i can help it. i’m thinking i need to track this more closely now, like if i switch, what am i actually tracking? maybe log the dose and how it feels, you know, subjective but also if my breathing actually improves. i used to see a patient chart for this stuff, and maybe graphing food-noise alongside dose-week on the symptom chart was the thing that convinced me something real was happening back then.
anyway, advice appreciated.
