Teeth clicking in my Upper Teeth

So, last month, I started noticing this clicking sound in my two upper front teeth. I totally freaked out, thinking they might be loose or something. I went to the dentist for a check-up and mentioned it, but she said everything looked fine and that X-rays weren’t necessary at the time. The clicking stopped shortly after.

Fast forward to a little over a month later—this past week, I’ve been getting this sticky, pasty feeling at the back of those front teeth, so I’d use my tongue to get rid of it. Then, of course, the clicking came back, and I freaked out again. I went to the dentist the next day for a different issue, but I brought up the clicking again. She checked my teeth and gums closely and said everything seemed fine.

Then, I had a consultation with an orthodontist about possibly getting braces again, and they did a full X-ray. He said my teeth looked good, and the clicking was probably just normal shifting. But then, I had a cold smoothie a little while ago—and the click happened again!

Does this sound like everything is okay, or am I just being super paranoid? My OCD is flaring up, and I’m starting to feel like I’m having a panic attack over it. Any advice or reassurance would be so appreciated!

Hiiii! I can totally tell the OCD is kicking in (haha, I deal with it a bit too). But if you’re hearing clicking, it means your teeth are likely touching each other. Next time, try using two fingers to gently see if you can wiggle those teeth—don’t force it, just see if there’s any movement. That could be the “shifting” they were talking about—just a bit of natural movement.
As I’m getting older, I notice mine do that occasionally, especially after I drink something (mine might be loosening a bit), but don’t worry, you’re still young! Now, go find something else to obsess over. Lol! Good luck!!!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I really appreciate it! Yeah, I have a small mouth, so my teeth are pretty close together (I had braces and don’t have my wisdom teeth). The dentist checked everything and said my teeth looked fine, with strong attachments, and my gums were in good shape. It just freaked me out a bit. She mentioned it’s likely just normal shifting. Although, those teeth do feel a little more sensitive to hot and cold liquids lately.
