Last Friday, I had my blood pressure checked at the GP’s office, and it was 143/93, which was great as it was the lowest it’s been all year. However, the following morning (Friday), it spiked to 171/114, and on Saturday, it was 175/115. By Sunday, it had reached 180/123, which made me really worried. I also had a severe headache on my right side. I contacted my GP, who asked me to come in immediately, and I was admitted to the hospital. While I was there, my blood pressure worsened, peaking at 210/145. They doubled my Enalapril dosage, and eventually, my blood pressure stabilized. My question is: Why would it suddenly spike like this? Also, is it normal to experience a headache with very high blood pressure (since I rarely get headaches)? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
