three months in, count dropped from 14-15 days a month to 8-9, and for two months straight it’s just sitting there. not climbing back up, which i’m grateful for, but not going lower either. i keep waiting for month four to be the one where it drops to something like 5 or 6 and it just… doesn’t move.
before i bring this to my neuro i wanted to ask what other people did when a CGRP worked but then plateaued instead of continuing to improve. is 8-9 just where my body settles and i should stop expecting more from this drug alone. did anyone add something on top, more nurtec as needed, botox layered in, before the number moved again. the confusing part is my baseline headache, the constant 2-3/10 one on the right side, did keep improving, it’s down to 1-2 most days now.
so something is still working. it’s specifically the discrete attack count that stalled. i don’t know if that’s a dosing thing, a timing thing, or just the ceiling for this particular med for me. i’ve been logging everything since before i started aimovig so at least i have the real numbers instead of a vague sense of “some months are better.” makes the plateau easier to point to and harder to talk myself out of.
anyone else hit a wall like this a few months in on a CGRP, and if so, did it move again on its own or did you have to change something to get past it?
