Sleep tracking showed me something my labs didn't

not about meds this time, more about a pattern I stumbled into. started logging sleep bc I was tired of guessing why some weeks I do fine on metformin and some weeks I’m nauseous by 9am. turns out the nights I get under 6 hrs, next day my fasting-adjacent snack cravings go through the roof, like clearly insulin related.

checked this against my glucose meter (still using finger sticks, no cgm yet) and the mornings after bad sleep read 8-10 points higher than my normal fasting range. nobody at my gyn’s office ever asked about sleep. it’s not on the pcos intake form, not on the labs, nothing.

but insulin resistance and short sleep are apparently tangled together enough that i think it’s been quietly messing with my numbers for months. anyone else notice their glucose or symptoms track with sleep more than with what they ate?
