Sleep still a mess at 17w pp

i’m 17 weeks pp and sleep is still all over the place. naima’s been sleeping for 6hr stretches at night but i’m up every 2hrs to feed her.

i’ve been tracking my sleep in careclinic and it’s crazy to see how fragmented it is. i’ve also been trying to get back into a fitness routine, but it’s hard when you’re running on fumes.

does anyone else struggle with sleep and fitness postpartum? how do you prioritize self-care when you’re barely getting by?

four months in and i’m still waiting for sleep to regulate. you said “i’m up every 2hrs to feed her” but i’ve found that even with a consistent feeding schedule, sleep is all over the place. my doc says it’s normal but it’s hard to shake the feeling that something is off.

sleep fragmentation is rough. you say “i’m up every 2hrs to feed her” but what about when you’re not feeding, do you still wake up at those intervals. i’ve found that my own sleep issues are more abt triggers than just sleep quality, so i’m wondering if there’s something else at play here.

sleep fragmentation is a thing for me too, especially with thyroid stuff. you said “i’m up every 2hrs to feed her” and that makes me wonder if the constant waking is messing w/ your cortisol rhythm, not just the sleep itself

fragmented sleep is rough, makes everything else fall apart. i’ve had stretches where i’m waking up every couple hours even without a reason, and trying to keep up with work or anything else feels impossible. it’s like

Fragmented sleep from a 2hr feeding cycle is a different category of problem than sleep disruption you might address with a “self-care” routine, even though the instinct to reclaim agency makes sense. What you’re tracking in CareClinic is a direct outcome of a biological demand, not a failure to prioritize. That’s the piece most advice on postpartum sleep papers around rather than engages with directly: it assumes there’s a choice to be made when the actual constraint is non-negotiable.
