been a minute since i posted, things are still… a lot. niall is 11 mos now, crawling everywhere, and i’m tired in a new way. not just the usual pp exhaustion, but like my sleep is actually worse now that he’s sleeping better.
i know it sounds weird, but hear me out. i’ve been tracking my sleep with careclinic and the monthly summary is what i look at to see if anything’s actually changing - it’s not, really. i’ve been trying to figure out if it’s the tirz or just life, but my sleep architecture is all over the place. anyone else experience this?
like, you’d think that once the baby sleeps, you sleep, but nope. i’m waking up to everything and nothing at the same time. i mentioned this before, but getting my body back doesn’t even mean what i thought it would - sleep is a huge part of that, and i’m still waiting. does anyone else have sleep that’s just…
Sleeping better but feeling worse is a paradox i’ve seen in my own tracking, and it sounds like you’re experiencing something similar, quietferry. When you say “my sleep architecture is all over the place” it resonates with me, as i’ve had days where my fatigue seems to have a life of its own. I’ve been using a tracker to log my symptoms and it’s helped me identify some patterns, like how my joint pain tends to spike after a few days of poor sleep.
The correlation view has been helpful in finding these patterns, and i’ve noticed that my fatigue often correlates with my ANA levels. I’m not sure if it’s the tirz or just life, but i do know that getting my body back doesn’t just mean sleeping better, it means finding a balance that works for me. I’ve been trying to figure out what triggers my fatigue, and i’ve found that it’s not just about sleeping more, but also about managing my stress and finding ways to cope with my autoimmune symptoms.
Have you noticed any patterns in your tracking that might be contributing to your fatigue, or any specific triggers that make it worse?
fresh from my own tracking, I’ve seen how sleep architecture can be all over the place even when the rest of life seems to be settling down. You mention “my sleep is actually worse now that he’s sleeping better” which caught my attention because it’s not what you’d expect.
I’ve been using the daily check-in flow in CareClinic to keep an eye on my own trends, and it’s surprising how often a change in one part of my routine can throw off another area entirely. The half-life of certain compounds, like tirzepatide, can also play a role in how our sleep patterns shift over time - tirzepatide’s half-life runs around 5 days, so it takes a while to reach steady state.
I’m not saying that’s the whole story here, but it’s definitely a factor to consider when looking at sleep changes.
“waking up to everything and nothing” hits hard. that kind of sleep where it feels like you’re still alert even when you’re out, i know it. for me, those kinds of nights almost always trigger an aura the next day, or at least a prodrome.
how are you seeing “sleep architecture is all over the place” in the careclinic summary? is it a specific drop in deep sleep, or more fragmented rem cycles, or just restless throughout? asking bc sometimes the total sleep time looks okay on paper but the quality is just gone.
when i bring my stuff to my neuro, she always wants to see the actual number breakdowns, like the csv export from careclinic helps make it less just “i feel bad.”
