saw dexcom’s stelo cleared the otc bar back in the spring, no rx needed, marketed straight at people without diabetes. i almost didn’t bother, my fasting glucose has been 88-94 for years, doc’s never blinked at it. but the whole insulin resistance thing keeps coming up in my labs discussions and nobody’s ever actually shown me a number so i figured why not. wore it through one full cycle.
first three weeks, boring, flat line, exactly what my yearly fasting glucose always said. then cycle day 23 hits, luteal phase, and lunch that never used to do anything suddenly puts me at 142 an hour later. same lunch i’ve eaten a hundred times. it held elevated for two more days then dropped back down the morning my period started.
spiro fixed my LH and testosterone months ago, so on paper i’m “regulated.” but a single fasting draw at an annual physical would never catch a three day postprandial spike that only shows up after progesterone climbs. that’s the part that gets me, the test everyone relies on is timed wrong for lean PCOS if this is a real pattern and not just my one cycle. i know n=1 isn’t data, i’m not trying to make it more than it is. but has anyone else run a cgm through a full cycle and seen the same luteal spike, and did your doctor do anything with it or just wave it off as not diagnostic since your a1c is fine?
