Sema month 4, facial volume loss - the side effect nobody mentioned

Nobody in any of the GLP-1 threads mentioned this until I was already in it: the skin. Specifically the face. I’m four months into compounded sema and around week 14 I noticed my cheeks looking flatter. Not dramatically, but in photos and in certain lighting. My husband said nothing (bless him), but I noticed. The mechanism makes sense once you look into it. Facial fat pads are still fat. Lose them quickly enough and the skin doesn’t catch up - physics, not pathology.

What’s less clear is whether slowing the rate of loss helps, or whether it resolves at maintenance. I haven’t found a clean answer anywhere. The emotional side I wasn’t prepared for. Losing weight was supposed to help the “I don’t recognise myself” feeling from the postpartum stretch, not add a new version of it. imo I’ve been logging skin texture changes alongside my weekly weight, using the CareClinic app mostly so I have a coherent timeline to show my OB rather than reconstructing it from memory. The trend lines make the progression clearer than I expected. Still in it at week 19. The tradeoff feels worth it for now. ymmv
