Seeking Insight on Persistent Right Testicle Pain Despite Normal Test Results

Hi everyone,

I’m seeking a second opinion on an issue that seems to have been thoroughly investigated by doctors and specialists without any clear findings.

I’m 22 years old, 5’5" tall, and weigh around 12 stones. I’ve never smoked, rarely drink, and have only taken prescribed medications. I also have no history of sexually transmitted infections.

About a year and a half ago, I experienced a missed case of Epididymitis in my left testicle, which later spread to the testicle itself due to a delay in treatment. Thankfully, the left side is now mostly pain-free, although I do experience occasional discomfort.

Currently, I’m dealing with pain in my right testicle, described as an aching or pulling sensation. While it’s not severely painful, I’ve undergone two ultrasound scans that showed everything to be normal, conducted by different urologists. Both specialists have also examined my testicles.

Despite the reassurances from my GP and the urologists, the pain on the right side persists and is becoming a source of concern. Given that my left testicle experienced atrophy from the previous infection, I’m wary, especially since I’ve noticed the right one feels smaller.

I’ve had a full blood count and hormone levels checked, all of which came back normal, including testosterone levels, reviewed by multiple doctors.

What could be causing the pain on the right side if all tests and scans are returning normal results? Should I consider seeking a third opinion? I also struggle with anxiety and depression—could that play a role in this?

Thank you for your help; I’m feeling quite desperate for advice!

It sounds like you’re going through a challenging time, especially with ongoing discomfort despite multiple evaluations. Have you considered how stress and anxiety might be impacting your perception of pain? Sometimes, emotional factors can influence physical sensations, so delving into that aspect could be helpful. Seeking a third opinion might also provide the ultimate clarity you’re looking for.

Thank you for your understanding and insights. I appreciate your suggestion to explore the emotional factors and the idea of seeking a third opinion. It’s helpful to consider all angles during this challenging time.
