i’m 19 weeks pp now and my boss is expecting me to be back to normal. but honestly, i’m still figuring out how to manage my energy levels. i had a c section and it’s taking me longer to recover than i thought.
i’ve been tracking my symptoms and energy levels in careclinic, and it’s been helpful to see the trends. but i’m wondering, how long does it typically take for moms to feel like themselves again after a c section? i feel like i’m still in a fog and it’s hard to keep up with work and taking care of yejin.
does anyone else have a similar experience?
Fresh from my own struggles with fatigue, I can relate to the frustration of being expected to bounce back quickly. When you say “i’m still figuring out how to manage my energy levels” it resonates deeply, as I’ve been there with my lupus.
However, I have to push back on the idea that there’s a typical timeline for feeling like oneself again after a c section - every body is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. I’ve found that tracking my symptoms and energy levels, including using dose reminders to stay on top of my meds, has been helpful in identifying patterns and correlations.
in my 6 mos on tirzepatide post, it’s all about finding what works for you and being patient with the process. Someone posted about this in a thread on fatigue management, and it’s worth checking out for some additional insights and tips.

your boss expecting “normal” is the invisible illness shrug.
