:))
Hi, I’ve been dealing with persistent coughing, choking, and post-nasal drip since last October. After several visits to doctors who told me it was asthma or stomach acid, I eventually convinced them to refer me to the hospital. After months of waiting, I finally got an appointment on Nov 4th, where they did an endoscopy (camera down my throat) and gave me a nasal wash. They scheduled me for a follow-up Barium swallow test and scan, which took even longer, and on December 12th, the radiographer confirmed that I have a large Pharyngeal Pouch. I’m still waiting for a follow-up appointment with the consultant (instead of just receiving a typed-up report of the results).
I continue to struggle with ongoing post-nasal drip, which makes it difficult to sleep. Has anyone else had experience with this condition? I’m really worried about surgery. Last year, I had day surgery for hemorrhoids, which led to complications requiring further operations, multiple hospital admissions, bleeding, and nearly dying twice, requiring four pints of blood. Because of that experience, I’m terrified of undergoing another operation.
If anyone has advice or personal experience with this condition, or can offer suggestions for managing the symptoms, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
