i’ve been tracking my sleep and it’s all over the place since perimenopause started. anyone else notice their sleep architecture changing?
i’m talking more wakeups, lighter sleep. feels like my cortisol is still high at night or something
imo.

Lighter sleep, same.
the disrupted sleep architecture you’re describing is a very real, well-documented symptom in perimenopause. where i’d push back gently on the idea of cortisol causing it is that altered cortisol patterns can often be a consequence of the fragmented sleep itself, rather than the primary driver. there are other tissue-level hormonal shifts going on that influence sleep, and isolating cortisol as the main explanation can overlook those.
