back after a break. so i’ve had a bunch of people ask me about ocrevus infusions and what to expect. honestly, it’s pretty straightforward.
you’ll get a bunch of pre-meds to prevent a reaction, then the infusion itself which takes a few hours. fatigue is a big one for me, still, after 6 months. some people get a cough, too.
i’ve found that tracking my symptoms and flares helps me figure out what’s ms and what’s just the infusion. anyone else have tips for making the most of your ocrevus infusions?
Fatigue after ocrevus infusions is pretty common, you mentioned it’s a big one for you even after 6 months. Tracking symptoms and flares like you do can help figure out what’s ms and what’s infusion related.
I’ve seen some people use the apple watch complication for quick logging, makes it easier to keep track of everything in one place. Ymmv but it might be worth looking into for anyone struggling to keep their symptoms organized.
Focusing on the infusion process, I found it interesting that you mentioned tracking symptoms and flares to differentiate between MS and infusion side effects, specifically saying “tracking my symptoms and flares helps me figure out what’s MS and what’s just the infusion.” This approach seems really helpful in managing expectations and understanding the treatment’s impact.
when you say fatigue is still “a big one” after 6 months, does that mean it hits right after the infusion and lingers, or does it build up over the full six months until your next one?
Fatigue still a big one for me too after a few months on a different med, not ocrevus but i’ve found that tracking my symptoms and flares helps me figure out what’s what, “what’s ms and what’s just the infusion” - , i guess i’m just wondering, do you find that the fatigue hits right after the infusion or does it build up over time? i’ve been using the weekly trend summary to try to spot patterns in my own fatigue and it’s been kinda helpful in figuring out what’s going on, but i’m still not sure if it’s the med or just my fibromyalgia acting up again
the steroid hangover from those pre-meds can be rough, and that can really skew what you’re tracking. for me, those intense fatigue and wired-but-tired feelings are distinct from a fibromyalgia flare, but it’s
“straightforward” is an interesting word choice for something that can knock you off your feet for days. the actual infusion process might be, sure, but trying to untangle what’s ms fatigue versus a steroid crash from the pre
dealing with infusions and figuring out what’s what sounds like a lot to manage, especially with the fatigue. when you mention the pre-meds, i always wonder about the steroid impact. fwiw i know for me, even
