aside. i hit this wall yesterday around 2pm. had a spreadsheet open, just a basic reconciliation, and my brain completely short-circuited. it wasn’t like “oh i need more coffee” tired.
it was like someone unplugged me. my fingers felt heavy on the keyboard and i kept staring at the same numbers for like three minutes straight without processing them. that’s my tell. normal tired, i can push through.
i can take a break, walk around, come back. this is a hard stop. my body just says nope. my rheum used to say “everyone gets tired,” and yeah, i get that.
but this is different. this is the fatigue where my joints start aching and my feet feel like concrete blocks and i just want to lie down on the office floor. my C3 and C4 numbers usually confirm it later, they start dropping like two weeks before i even feel that hard stop. my ESR and CRP still look fine, always.
that’s the kicker. i’m three weeks into this biologic now and honestly, the fatigue feels even worse. i expected an adjustment but this is past just “tired.” it’s the 2pm hard stop every day. how do you guys specifically describe the difference to your doctors?
like, what’s your plain language for “this isn’t just me being lazy?”
