Nevro HF10 spinal cord stimulator

I recently had a Nevro HF10 stimulator implanted a few weeks ago and have another one scheduled for installation in 30 days. I’m really surprised by how little tech support is available for this product—there’s plenty of sales data but hardly any FAQs about how things work or what to do in various situations. I’ve found some unhappy users, but not much in terms of helpful tips. I figured I’d start a discussion and ask a few questions since I have a lot of newbie inquiries that I can’t find answers to online.

Here are a few to kick things off, and hopefully others can share their experiences or best practices:

  1. I didn’t charge the device for a few days (not my best move) and noticed I was in more pain than usual today. My remote showed one blinking battery bar. Does that mean the battery was dead, or just close to it?

  2. If the battery was low but not completely dead, could that affect its performance? Is it an all-or-nothing benefit, or does it work differently when the battery is low?

  3. Before I charged it when it was almost dead, I felt like the battery/transmitter box was heating up. Is it possible for it to get warm when the battery is low and working harder, similar to a cellphone?
