so i’ve been on nurtec for about six months. first three months it was clean - aura hits, i take it within 15 minutes, attack stops. past couple weeks though, i’m on double doses and the first one’s taking like 45 minutes to work instead of 20. first thought: tolerance.
meds stop working. but then i looked at the actual timing. aura still shows up at 3pm, like clockwork. but the topiramate fog adds this lag - aura happens, my brain takes a few minutes to register it, i find the pill, i take it.
went back through my logs and the pattern is clear. aura at 3:00, but dosing at 3:10. five minutes. sounds like nothing.
but it’s the difference between “within the window” and “probably too late.” nurtec window is tight. so maybe the med didn’t actually fail. maybe my timing window collapsed because i’m slower catching the warning signs. which means switching to a different abortive won’t help.
i need to solve the lag problem first, but i don’t know how. does anyone else notice the five-minute difference matter that much? or am i just bad at catching my own aura now?
