yeah, this is the thing nobody warns you about. your docs run every test, everything comes back normal, and somehow you’re still crashing after fifteen minutes of standing. tests check specific markers: thyroid, glucose, inflammation. they don’t check for post-exertional malaise or whether your heart rate spikes 30+ bpm standing up.
they don’t capture that post-crash brain fog is different than your baseline fog. last month i got full bloodwork done, everything fine. went to the library for twenty minutes, felt okay when i left. then saturday hit and i couldn’t form sentences for two days.
my neuro was like “your labs are good,” and yeah, they are. but my crash window is real. the gap between “lab normal” and “functionally wrecked” is where a lot of us live. what matters isn’t what the tests say.
it’s your actual tolerance threshold, how you respond to exertion, what your crash looks like. when your docs say “but your labs are fine,” how do you get them to understand? do you bring crash tracking instead, or does that even matter with yours?
