i’ve seen a few posts lately wondering if muscle growth is directly tied to free testosterone levels, and i wanted to share my thoughts. as someone who’s been tracking their hormone levels and muscle growth for a while now, i’ve noticed that it’s not quite that simple. while testosterone is certainly important for muscle growth, it’s not the only factor at play. i’ve had times where my test levels were high, but my muscle growth was slow, and vice versa.
it’s also worth noting that muscle growth is influenced by a complex interplay of factors, including genetics, nutrition, and training. that being said, i do think that testosterone plays a role in supporting muscle growth, particularly when it comes to recovery and tissue repair. i’ve found that when my test levels are in a healthy range, i’m able to recover faster from workouts and build muscle more efficiently. but it’s not a direct correlation, and there are plenty of other factors that can influence muscle growth.
