Ms symptoms vs normal life

i’m still figuring out what’s ms and what’s just life. like, is being tired all the time a symptom or am i just not sleeping enough? i’ve been tracking my fatigue patterns and it’s hard to distinguish between ms fatigue and just being exhausted from work. anyone else have this problem? i’ve been on ocrevus for a few months now and i thought it would help with the fatigue but it’s still a struggle. does anyone have any tips on how to separate ms symptoms from normal life stuff? imo i feel like i’m constantly questioning what’s real and what’s not

what specific factors do you log around ‘ms fatigue’ to separate it?

i swear half the battle is just knowing what to blame, especially when you’re constantly questioning what’s real . that’s exactly where i was with my autoimmune stuff.

for me, what eventually helped separate my actual flares from just being run down was tracking my C3 and C4 levels really closely. my rheumatologist only did labs

Fresh off my own struggles with distinguishing between normal fatigue and autoimmune fatigue, I noticed you said “i feel like i’m constantly questioning what’s real and what’s not” which really resonates with me. When I’m tracking my symptoms in a log, I can see patterns emerge that I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise, like my C3/C4 levels dropping about two weeks before a flare.

It’s not just about being tired all the time, it’s about understanding the specific pattern of your fatigue, and for me, that’s been a game changer. I’ve been using a symptom tracker to visualize my trends and it’s helped me identify some pretty subtle correlations between my energy levels and certain triggers, like the 2pm switch flip you mentioned, which for me is always a hard stop.

The overlay view where you can stack two symptoms is actually really helpful for this, it’s not something I thought I’d use as much as I do. Anyway, I think the key is to focus on the patterns and trends rather than just the individual symptoms, and to be patient with yourself as you figure it out, because it’s not always easy to distinguish between what’s ms and what’s just life.
