Morning Anxiety

Does anyone notice that their anxiety is considerably higher in the morning? I’ve been on Lexapro for two weeks now (1 week at 5mg and one week at 10mg).

Oh man, I totally get where you’re coming from. Morning anxiety used to hit me like a truck when I first started on Lexapro. It felt like I was on an anxiety rollercoaster, especially during those first few weeks of adjusting to the medication.

It does get better, though. Your body’s still getting used to the Lexapro, and it takes a bit for the full effects to smooth out. Hang in there, and maybe chat with your doc if it feels too overwhelming. It helped me to have a morning routine to sort of ease into the day more gently.

Adjusting to new medication can be challenging, and it’s not uncommon to notice changes in your anxiety levels during this period. It’s great that you’re keeping track of your symptoms and how they’re affecting you throughout the day. Remember that it can take some time for your body to fully adjust to the medication, so it’s important to be patient with yourself and to communicate any concerns with your healthcare provider.
