MK-677 and fasting lipid panels: dose timing is a variable most people miss

The statin guideline update has people looking more carefully at their lipid numbers and risk calculators. If you’re running a GH secretagogue (MK-677, ipamorelin, sermorelin, CJC), there’s a variable most people miss when they interpret those results. GH acutely raises free fatty acids. The hepatic response to that pulse can shift triglycerides and, to a lesser degree, LDL-C transiently. Most people dose MK before bed and draw fasting labs 8-10 hours later. That’s not enough clearance. You’re not drawing a clean fasted lipid panel, you’re drawing one that still has residual GH-mediated effects in the background. Lp(a) is more stable and less affected by short-term GH fluctuations, so if lp(a) is what’s inflecting your risk calculation, this matters less there specifically. But if your TG or LDL-C is near a decision threshold, the timing is real noise. imo Protocol I’d suggest: hold the dose 18-24 hours before any fasting lipid draw you plan to use for actual risk stratification. Not 12. Standard “fasted” just means no food. It doesn’t account for endocrine timing. Those are separate things.
