Lupus flares aren't just joint pain

i’ve been living with lupus for 7 months now and i’m still trying to figure out what’s lupus and what’s just life. one thing that’s been bothering me is that people always talk about lupus flares like they’re just about joint pain. but for me, it’s so much more than that. i get rashes, fatigue, and even heart palpitations.

is this a flare or am i just tired, i genuinely can’t tell yet. anyone else experience stuff like this? i feel like i’m always playing detective with my body, trying to figure out what’s going on. does anyone else have to deal with this kind of uncertainty?

fwiw, i’ve been tracking my symptoms and i think i’m starting to see some patterns. but it’s hard when everything feels so connected. like, if i’m stressed, my joints hurt more. if i’m tired, my rashes get worse.

it’s all so intertwined. anyone else have any tips for working through this?
