Lingering pain after diverticulitis

It’s been 4 weeks since my second flare-up in 16 months. I still have nagging lower abdominal pain before bowel movements, but Bentyl 10mg as needed helps. Is this common? I don’t have loose stools, blood, or fever.

It’s common to still experience lower abdominal pain before bowel movements after a flare-up. Bentyl helping suggests it might be related to intestinal spasms or IBS.

Since you don’t have concerning symptoms like loose stools or fever, it’s likely manageable with medication. Keep an eye on it and follow up with your doctor if needed. Take care!
