spent like 8 mos thinking i just had irregular cycles. 32 days one month, 40 the next, skip a month entirely. all the GPs said was ‘yeah that happens’ which… doesn’t help. tracked everything and brought it to my endo - LH timing, temps, actual bleed dates. she took one look and said i wasn’t ovulating. ordered androgens. tbh turns out the irregular cycles weren’t the problem. they were the sign. androgens were high enough to suppress ovulation entirely. totally different issue than what i thought i had. spironolactone started working after that. not because my cycles are ‘regular’ now, but bc i’m actually ovulating. anyone else get a diagnosis that reframed the whole thing? like the answer was there the whole time but nobody looked the right way?
hmm symptom not the source
