How Self-Care has helped with Lung Cancer

Taking care of my elderly loved one with lung cancer has taught me just how important self-care really is. At first, I focused mostly on their treatments and medications, but I quickly realized that things like proper nutrition, hydration, and even light movement made a huge difference in their energy levels. Some days, just a short walk or stretching helped with their breathing and mood. And on tougher days, simple things like deep breathing exercises or just sitting outside for fresh air brought a sense of calm.

I’ve also seen how much emotional well-being matters. Staying connected with family, keeping their mind engaged, and managing stress all play a role in how they feel. It’s not always easy, but I’ve learned that small, consistent self-care habits can make each day a little better.
