been a paramedic for years, so you’d think i’d be precise about everything. exact vitals, exact times, report it all down to the minute. but my migraines? i was just guessing.
yeah, happens a lot, maybe 5-6 days a month, something like that. then i actually tracked for two weeks straight. turns out it was 11 days. proper attacks too - aura, prodrome, the whole thing - not just baseline grumble.
my neuro had been working blind. i’m in his office saying “frequent” and he’s nodding along like yeah, ok, CGRP might help. but once i showed him actual dates and patterns on paper, it was different. suddenly he’s asking about the barometric pressure connection i’d mentioned before but he never seemed to register.
what scared me was realizing: if i hadn’t tracked, i probably would’ve ditched the preventive too early. the data made him actually hear me. does anyone else find their memory of how many attacks they’ve had is completely wrong? everyone i’ve mentioned this to says the same thing.
