Herpes all over my body

I’m struggling with a persistent and troubling issue, and I’d really appreciate your advice. Despite multiple visits to my doctor, who has diagnosed me with folliculitis, I’m convinced that what I’m experiencing might be herpes, particularly since I’ve had genital herpes before. I have small bumps all over my body, especially on my chest and legs, and I’m constantly itching. My ex had herpes too, and it seemed to manifest on his scalp and body, which makes me wonder if this could be a mutated form of the virus.

Additionally, my family, coworkers, and even my new boyfriend are now experiencing similar symptoms—itchiness, bumps, and discomfort. I’ve been diligent about washing my clothes and bedding and trying not to scratch, but things only seem to get worse. I’ve also had severe flu-like symptoms with body pain, diarrhea, and fever recently.

Given that my doctor’s current diagnosis doesn’t seem to address the situation accurately, and since everyone around me is having the same issue, what should I do? Is there another approach or specialist you would recommend to get to the bottom of this?

Given your concerns, here are a few steps to consider:

Seek a Second Opinion: Consult another healthcare provider, especially one specializing in dermatology or infectious diseases.

See a Specialist: Consider an infectious disease expert or dermatologist for advanced testing.

Request Comprehensive Testing: Get a thorough evaluation for various skin conditions and infections, including herpes simplex virus (HSV) tests.

Assess Transmission Risks: Discuss with your doctor the possibility of a communicable condition and appropriate precautions.

Monitor Symptoms: Keep a detailed record of your symptoms and any potential triggers.

Review Hygiene Practices: Evaluate and improve hygiene practices with professional guidance.

Persistent symptoms and flu-like signs should be thoroughly investigated by a specialist for an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. Please note that my response is not a substitute for professional medical advice. It’s important to consult directly with a healthcare provider or specialist for a thorough evaluation and diagnosis tailored to your specific situation.
