Heart pounding on 50mcg levo, 3 weeks after Hashimoto dx

got diagnosed in april, TSH was 8.9, TPO antibodies through the roof, started 50mcg levothyroxine right away bc my endo said no reason to wait. first two weeks were fine, actually felt a little less foggy. then around day 18 my resting heart rate started sitting at 95-100 just sitting at my desk grading papers. not exercising, not stressed, just sitting there with my heart going.

checked it on my watch three separate times bc i didn’t believe it. called the office, nurse said it can happen when your body’s adjusting to actually having thyroid hormone again after running low for who knows how long, and to give it another few weeks before they’d consider dropping the dose. no bloodwork change yet, next TSH pull isn’t for another 3 weeks. it’s not constant, comes in waves, worse in the afternoon which is also when i’m already wiped from teaching.

i keep debating if i should push for an earlier retest or just ride it out . anyone else get this right after starting levo, like your heart rate creeping up before anything else changed? did it settle on its own or did they end up adjusting your dose?
