Four mos out and my c-section scar still feels alien

I’m four months postpartum with my second and my c-section incision site is still so strange. It’s not painful, just… disconnected. There’s a profound numbness right along the scar, but then I’ll get weird pulling or zinging feelings deep inside when I twist to put the baby in his car seat.

It feels like a proprioceptive lag, almost. Like my brain’s map of that part of my body got corrupted and it’s trying to redraw it with weird data. I can see my hand touching the skin, but the sensation that comes back isn’t right. I’m also 18 weeks into semaglutide, which I started after my 6-week clearance, so I’m down about 22 lbs.

Part of me wonders if the fat loss is changing how the scar tissue sits, or making adhesions more noticeable. I’ve been making a note of the sensation in my CareClinic tracker to see if it lines up with my injection cycle, but there’s no pattern. It’s just a constant low-level weirdness. For other c-section moms, how long

that “proprioceptive lag” description is perfect. i’m 19 months out and still have weird body map glitches, so four months postpartum after a c-section is prime time for that disconnected feeling. the rapid fat loss probably

The “proprioceptive lag” description is a really precise way to frame

that “proprioceptive lag” description is perfect. i’m 19 months out and still have weird body map glitches, so four months postpartum after a second c-section sounds about right. the rapid weight loss probably just unmasked some of the adhesion weirdness that was already there.

Four mos out is still pretty early for scar tissue to fully settle. You mentioned a “profound numbness right along the scar” which makes me wonder if the nerve regeneration is just taking its time.

I’ve been tracking my own postpartum symptoms and noticed that some weird sensations can persist for a while. The part abt your brain’s map of that part of your body getting “corrupted” resonates w/ me, as I’ve had similar feelings of disconnection from my body after pregnancy.

I’ve been using a health tracker to monitor my progress and it’s been helpful in identifying patterns, like how my energy levels fluctuate throughout the week.
