I’m posting for a colleague who needs advice.
Last year, she had longer periods but didn’t think much of it. Four months ago, she got an IUD and was found anemic. The doctor put her on the pill, but she bled heavily. After stopping the pill, her anemia improved.
Recently, she experienced severe pain, smelly discharge, and heavy bleeding. An ultrasound found a large fibroid and a cyst on her ovary. Her primary doctor took a biopsy and prescribed progesterone pills, but she still has heavy, smelly discharge and severe pain. She has a GYN appointment in 10 days.
She’s worried it might be cancer. Should she go to the ER? Any advice would be appreciated.
