Experiencing Chest Wall Pain and Discomfort

A couple of months ago, I started experiencing discomfort when lying on my left side. At first, I thought it was just soreness in my breast tissue, so I assumed it would go away on its own. But then, I began to feel a strange sensation in my left arm resting against my chest wall, and my armpit started feeling odd as well. I found myself constantly checking and feeling for any changes. Before long, my entire chest wall started aching, and I noticed that taking a deep breath made me feel wheezy, though I wasn’t breathless.

Now, I have a constant dull ache in my chest, and my sternum is painful to press against. After seeing my GP, I was diagnosed with costochondritis and prescribed paracetamol and naproxen. A couple of months have passed, and at age 49 (I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago), I’ve been referred to a breast clinic for further evaluation, with a chest X-ray and physiotherapy also being considered.

Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms or gone through something like this? I’d love to hear from others who might have been through it.
