so i’ve had lupus for a while now and one thing that’s been driving me crazy is this dry patch on my face. it’s not just dry, it’s like my skin is literally cracking. i’ve tried all the usual moisturizers and creams, but nothing seems to work for long. i’m starting to think it’s related to my lupus flares - every time i have a bad flare, my skin gets worse.
has anyone else noticed this? i’ve been tracking my flares and labs, and it seems like whenever my C3 and anti-dsDNA are out of whack, my skin starts acting up. i’m on benlysta now, and while it’s helping with my overall symptoms, the skin thing is still a mystery. i’ve even tried changing my diet and stress levels, but nothing seems to make a difference.
anyone have any ideas? or am i just stuck with this dry, cracking skin forever? fwiw, i’ve been using a humidifier and trying to stay out of the sun, but it’s hard when you live in florida. anyway, just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and found anything that works
