Does having lean body weight invalidate pcos symptoms?

ok so i finally got my full panel back and it confirms the hormonal stuff, but weirdly nothing seems dramatically out of range in a way that matches some textbook ‘classic’ pcos presentation. like, no major insulin resistance numbers or obvious androgen spikes to match all the cycles/anovulation crap i’ve been dealing with. tbh i’m kinda used to being dismissed because my body fat % isn’t high enough for them to draw a clear line.

they look at the weight and think, ‘it can’t be pcos.’ but then i get these totally textbook symptoms like wildly irregular cycles AND persistent signs of androgen excess on other counts. impo: is there ever a point where doctors treat lean body composition as proof that you don’t have the condition, even if your cycle tracking and symptom profile scream otherwise? what did anyone else go through when their diagnosis was questioned because they weren’t…

built different?

the “built different” comment lands well, bc that kind of rigid thinking is a common problem in how clinicians approach complex endocrine disorders. lean PCOS is a known phenotype, so treating body fat % as an exclusion criterion means your doc is
