Do the blisters always burst?

I’m dealing with some symptoms that might be herpes, but things don’t quite seem to fit.

About two months ago, I noticed a spot on one of my testicles that looked like a simple pimple. I thought it was just a blocked pore or ingrown hair. The spot hasn’t changed in size or shape and is still there. A few weeks later, I saw a few more small, pinhead-sized pimples on the same testicle. They haven’t changed, and they’re not itchy, sore, or painful.

Recently, around two weeks ago, I noticed similar small pimples on my penis. These have also remained the same—no pain or leakage.

About a month ago, I had what I thought was a cold, but it’s taken a while to clear up.

Out of caution, I visited a GP who thought these might be herpes. I told them that the pimples have been there for weeks or months and I haven’t had any other herpes symptoms. The doctor took a blood sample to test for herpes and prescribed anti-fungal cream and anti-viral tablets (valaciclovir), which I’m taking twice a day (500 mg each). My partner and I have been together for almost a year, and neither of us has had herpes symptoms before.

Since starting the anti-virals, I’ve developed a dull ache in my groin, lower back, and abdomen, and I’ve noticed what feels like swollen glands in my neck. I feel worse now than before the doctor visit, which could be due to stress while waiting for the test results. But I’m also wondering if these new symptoms could be side effects of the medication.

Some of the symptoms seem to match herpes, and I’m preparing for a positive result. But I’m also considering other possibilities because the pimples haven’t changed or become painful.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any insights?
