Hi everyone, it’s me again—the proverbial bad penny. I haven’t been around for a few days (or is it weeks? Time seems to slip by without much notice these days).
I’ve got a question for you all—has anyone here had steroid injections? My doctor thinks it might be the next step for me, but I’ve managed to avoid them for years by either changing the subject when they came up or canceling appointments. The thing is, the pain is really getting to me now, and on top of that, I’m feeling pretty down because I can’t do the things I used to, which my doctor says is just part of the RA journey. A friend of mine, whose husband has severe RA, also mentioned that depression often goes hand-in-hand with it.
So here’s my dilemma—should I just go ahead and get the steroid injection, or is it not worth it? I’m in pain now, but will the pain of the injection be worse than what I’m dealing with right now?
Sorry for the rambling, and thank you to anyone who can offer some advice!
