Complement dropped before my labs proved it

Read a study my rheumatologist mentioned about C3/C4 trends lagging patient-reported flare onset by up to two weeks in lupus cohorts, and I sat w/ that for a while because it matched exactly what happened to me in April. I knew something was off before any number moved. Hands stiff at 5am, that specific ache behind my eyes, the flat exhausted feeling that isn’t regular tired. I logged it anyway even though CRP and ESR looked fine that week, and when C3 finally dropped and anti-dsDNA climbed two wks later, the timeline lined up with what I’d already written down. fwiw The medication tracker caught a pattern b/w my hydroxychloroquine timing and those pre-drop symptom days that I would not have pieced together just going by memory. Makes me wonder how much lag is normal versus how much depends on which markers your body actually moves. Anyone else notice their body ahead of their bloodwork like that?
